Castle of Alameda de Osuna (Madrid)

The Alameda castle or castle of the Zapata was built in the 15th century by the Mendoza family. As other castles of the period, it was formed by a large tower of homage and an indoor enclosure with rooms around a courtyard, with towers at the corners and a great defensive moat around the whole.

Alameda de Osuna is one of the five areas belonging to the District of Barajas, in the north-east periphery of the city of Madrid, capital of the Autonomous Community of Madrid and of Spain. Its western part is occupied by the El Capricho Park, one of the most beautiful gardens in the city.
