Castle of Alcalá La Vieja (Madrid)

The remains of the fortress of Qal'at Abd Al-Salam (Alcalá La Vieja) are located on a hill at the foot of monte Ecce Homo, in the town of Alcala de Henares. They are of muslim origin, whose first references date back to the 10th century. It was irregular plant and had eight towers, being the watchtower, the only one that still stands. Inside, three warehouses and a rectangular cistern are located.
