Polán is a municipality in the province of Toledo in the Autonomous Community of Castilla-La Mancha, it is located in the Montes de Toledo region. Polán's toponym is related to populating or action of populating, reaching its current name through the Mozarabs, Christians who remained in Muslim territory after the encroachment of the Iberian Peninsula. In the centuries up to the 18th century, Polán became one of the most important towns in the area, with the forests of Ventosilla, Las Morras, Fuente del Caño and Zuarraz, together with its orchards of fruit trees, vegetables and barley, its vineyards and olive groves.
