Las Navas del Marqués is a municipality in the province of Ávila, in the Autonomous Community of Castilla y León, it belongs to the Valle del Alberche and Tierra de Pinares region, being the most populated municipality. It is located on the southern slope of the Sierra de Malagón and borders the Autonomous Community of Madrid, characterized by its extensive natural environment. The existence of anthropomorphic rock tombs prove human settlements during the Early Middle Ages, probably shepherds who used these lands as they were “no man's land”, nestled between the Christian south and the Muslim north, but the town as such is not documented until late. from the 13th century.
