The castle of Pioz, erected in a plain, was built in the 15th century as a fortress palace for the family of Mendoza. Despite its appearance strongly defensive and residential, it never came to be used militarily.
Pioz is a municipality in the province of Guadalajara, in the Autonomous Community of Castilla-La Mancha. The villa is seated on a wasteland in the district of the Baja Alcarria.
